By 2010 Parents and carers should have local access to extended care locally, this is the aim of the Government which is supported by our local authorities. Practitioners working with children and young people will work together more effectively than ever before. HantsFish is the beginning of this shared way of working that keeps the youngest highest in our priorities.

Children's Centres which have been developed under the 'Sure Start' programme, are simply local centres that have brought together agencies who work with families such as Portage, Homestart, and community groups, offering support where its really needed, within pram-pushing distance of home.
