CAF Awareness E-Learning Course
(length: approx. 90 minutes)Description
The CAF is an early assessment of a child’s needs that is used across all professions and agencies: completed with the child, young person and their family; focused on strengths as well as needs; child or young person centred; holistic; shared, if appropriate. It is a process that may lead to the involvement of other services or a specialist assessment. This E-Learning course will give you an overview of CAF.
Learning Outcomes
This course aims to help you understand:
What the Common Assessment Framework is, and why it is important, by outlining its key aims and principles.
The reason and purpose for a Common Assessment Framework (CAF)
How CAF will lead to better outcomes for children, young people and their families, and is part of Integrated Working locally and more widely within Hampshire
Gain a broad overview of the issues of consent, confidentiality, data protection and information sharing, as they apply to the CAF.

Anyone working with Children or Young People in Hampshire can access this course. Please email caf.elearning@hants.gov.uk with your name, district and organisation. Your request will be responded to with access details.
Once access has been granted, login to Hampshire’s CAF Awareness E-learning course.
