CAF Awareness E-Learning Course

(length: approx. 90 minutes)

Description

The CAF is an early assessment of a child’s needs that is used across all professions and agencies: completed with the child, young person and their family; focused on strengths as well as needs; child or young person centred; holistic; shared, if appropriate. It is  a process that may lead to the involvement of other services or a specialist assessment. This E-Learning course will give you an overview of CAF.

Learning Outcomes

This course aims to help you understand:

  • What the Common Assessment Framework is, and why it is important, by outlining its key aims and principles.

  • The reason and purpose for a Common Assessment Framework (CAF)

  • How CAF will lead to better outcomes for children, young people and their families, and is part of Integrated Working locally and more widely within Hampshire

  • Gain a broad overview of the issues of consent, confidentiality, data protection and information sharing, as they apply to the CAF.

  • Broadband connection of at least 512 kbps (will function on dialup)

  • 800 x 600 screen resolution.

  • Web browser supporting Flash Player 7 or later

  • Sound

Anyone working with Children or Young People in Hampshire can access this course.  Please email caf.elearning@hants.gov.uk with your name, district and organisation.  Your request will be responded to with access details.
