CAF Awareness Briefings

Session Description

The CAF is an early assessment of a child’s needs that is used across all professions and agencies: completed with the child, young person and their family; focused on strengths as well as needs; child or young person centred; holistic; shared, if appropriate. It is  a process that may lead to the involvement of other services or a specialist assessment. .

Who should attend?

All staff  who need to know about the CAF( especially those who may request/initiate CAFs), but may  not directly undertake the CAF assessment and/ or complete the CAF   should attend the CAF Awareness course.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand reason and purpose for a Common assessment Framework (CAF)

  • How CAF will lead to better outcomes for children, young people and their families, and is part of Integrated Working locally and more widely within Hampshire.
