CAF Completers and Lead Professional

Course Description

The CAF is an early assessment of a child’s needs that is used across all professions and agencies.  This a full day course will give you thorough grounding in the CAF and the ECM agenda, and thus the process for  completing a  CAF assessment.

Who should attend?

All staff who provide and/or assess  services to children/young people and their families, and  have already been identified by the school/ agency as  required  to conduct the assessment, and  complete the CAF form.

Learning Outcomes

• Understand the reason and purpose for having a Common Assessment Framework (CAF), and how the CAF will lead to better outcomes for children, young people and their families;

• Understand and put into practice the CAF process, and apply your specific knowledge and skills to complete and become familiar with and practice using the relevant CAF paperwork

• Understand the issues of consent, confidentiality, data protection and information sharing, as they apply to the CAF

• Contribute to the process of working effectively with other agencies to implement the CAF, and understand how it will work locally and more widely within Hampshire

Additional Notes:

• All courses start at 9.30am and are due to finish at 4.30pm - delegates are expected to be there from 9.15am

• PLEASE NOTE: All delegates will be expected to have an overview of CAF before they arrive on the Completer course. Completing the CAF Awareness E-learning course, reading the Pre-course information or attending a local CAF briefing will provide you with the basic level of awareness to undertake this course.
